How else can HR help me retain staff?

Get to know what's important to your employees – develop an Employee Care Plan (ECP) on their first day with your company and use it like a passport throughout their career with you, adjusting accordingly over time as appropriate.

Hold "stay interviews" - Rather than exit interviews with employees who are leaving why not hold "stay interviews" on a regular basis with existing staff.

Focus on talent management best-practices - Talent management helps ensure the right candidate is hired from the start, gives them direction, feedback, development and recognition.

As a business you need to recruit the right people who are right for your business, implement programs and/or processes that support the above activities and provide good and appropriate training to your staff and managers.  Look after your employees and they will in turn look after your residents and families.  It’s a win-win situation.
