United fans in tribute to Busby at Rome final

LONDON (Reuters) - Manchester United fans will display a huge pictorial image of former manager Matt Busby when the team enters the pitch at the Olympic Stadium in Rome for Wednesday's Champions League final against Barcelona.

Busby, who died aged 84 in 1994, would have been 100 years old on the day before the game and UEFA have given United fans permission to display 16,000 cards, which held up together will form a message reading "For Sir Matt" and his portrait.

Busby, who was United's manager for 24 years until 1969, led them to their first European Cup triumph in 1968.
