With some sectors experiencing difficulty at this point in time, I am delighted to say that Ecommerce is slowly but surely making its mark here in Ireland.

Every day figures increase in relation to consumers purchasing their goods or services via the internet and so those business' who are not yet involved need to get with the times in order to maintain their position in the market place. In order to be successful in this rapidly changing environment, it is highly necessary business comply with this growing trend or they simply won't survive.

What people need to realise is that online business gives you access to the largest market available, with over 1.5 billion people currently connected and that number growing on a daily basis. In this modern & technologically advanced world any company that does not have its own website loses out significantly as more than likely several of their competitors will have a cyber-presence which in turn gives them a competitive advantage. The majority of consumers are eager to be knowledgeable about a company before purchasing a product or service from them - visiting the company's website is the easiest and fastest way of doing so. Henceforth Website development is a step in the right direction to broadening ones target audience.

The jobs market for IT roles grew substantially throughout 2011 and looks very promising for 2012 especially with the rise of Ecommerce coming into play. In 2011 the development market was by far the busiest sector within IT with many companies crying out for C++, .Net and Java developers. I personally recruit predominantly for Web Developers (e.g. PHP / HTML / CSS) and Web Designers and the hiring activity in both areas is looking incredibly promising.

Ireland is emerging as a global centre for excellence in technology innovation which is further encouraging the establishment of several new Ecommerce companies to make their mark here. This in turn has created jobs in multiple areas including sales, marketing, customer care, technical programmers and most importantly Web Developers and Web Designers.

Whilst it may be slightly premature of me to say that the happy days are here to stay, the job market in the technology division thanks to the rise in Ecommerce is certainly looking very radiant for 2012. Hiring managers and IT Recruiters across the country will most definitely be in agreement with this theory.

Ecommerce is here to stay and it will only grow bigger. It has portrayed steady growth since its first conception in the mid 1990's and has unlimited potential!
