Dlr LEO Launch New Financial Understanding App

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Enterprise Office (DLR LEO) are leading the way with a new initiative for self-paced learning.

The organisation have launched a self-learning app which has access to two Financial Understanding modules for users from non-financial backgrounds to improve their financial literacy skills.

Why Should I Up-Skill in Financial Literacy?

Financial literacy is the foundation of your relationship with money, and it is a lifelong journey of learning. Within the app, you will discover a range of topics, such as:

  • How to read financial statements
  • Financial decision making
  • Impressing the Bank Manager
  • Assessing and growing profitability while reducing costs
  • Understanding the net worth of your company
  • The importance of cash flow projections
  • Your tax obligations

When Can I Do It? How Long Does it Take?

The Financial Understanding App is for self-learners who are busy but want to learn new skills. You can complete it in your own time, at your own pace. They recommend allowing 8-10 hours to complete each module over the course of 2-3 weeks.

As part of the programme a Financial Specialist mentor will review your answers and feedback. Three hours of individual one-to-one mentoring is also included.

The app available and free to use for LEO dlr clients.

On receipt of a completed application form, you will be set up with access to the online learning platform and assigned a supporting mentor.
