Order of St George makes his Seasonal Debut tomorrow in the Saval Beg stakes ar Leopardstown

Order Of St George will be the star attraction at Leopardstown on Friday evening as the emphatic Palmerston House Irish St Leger winner will make his seasonal debut in the Seamus & Rosemary McGrath Saval Beg Stakes (7.35pm).

Officially the highest rated flat horse in training in Ireland, Order Of St George will bid to follow in the path of Yeats and Fame And Glory who won the Saval Beg Stakes on their way to winning the Ascot Gold Cup for which he is currently a very warm favourite.  The Aidan O’Brien-trained four-year-old will face five rivals including Silwana for Takashi Kodama and the Willie McCreery trained Fact Or Folklore.  Dermot Weld won the King George V Cup last year and he runs Zalfana this year. Aidan O’Brien is represented by the highly regarded Claudio Monteverdi and The Major General. While Charles O’Brien’s  Santa Monica who was second in the Group 3 Gallinule Stakes will be another strong contender.  After racing, Leopardstown will host an outdoor movie “Dirty Dancing” in the enclosure on a large 20 foot screen.

Pat Keogh, CEO Leopardstown racecourse commented: “Racing is set to be a thriller tomorrow evening with Order Of St George providing an intriguing Saval Bag Stakes. With the beautiful weather to continue – racegoers are in for a real treat with racing and our first outdoor movie screening!”
