Microsoft Ireland team cycling from Mizen Head to Malin Head for LauraLynn

A team of Microsoft Ireland employees has volunteered to cycle 650km from Mizen Head, Co Cork to Malin Head, Co Donegal to raise funds for children’s hospice LauraLynn.

The cycle will run over four days from 9 to 12 September and will bring the team through counties Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal. They will travel from Mizen to Tralee on the first day; Tralee to Galway on day two; Galway to Bundoran on day three; and Bundoran to Malin Head on the final day.

The team will cycle for around eight hours a day, travelling an average distance of 160km. Thirty four Microsoft employees have volunteered to take part in the cycle, with 24 cycling and 10 acting as crew.

“As neighbours of ours in Sandyford we’ve had a long relationship with the LauraLynn team and we’re looking forward to being able to support them once again through the money raised for this cycle,” said James O’Connor, managing director, Microsoft EMEA operations centre. “It will be a challenging and gruelling four days for the cyclists to be sure, but it will also be an extraordinarily rewarding and invigorating experience.”
