Ireland’s first carbon neutral taxi company launches in South Dublin

go green cabs target environmentally conscious consumers

go green cabs is Ireland's first truly green taxi company, offering great service, value, and an environmentally friendly transport option, using a fleet of smooth, comfortable and spacious Toyota Prius cars.

Joe Donohoe and John Burke recently set up go green cabs having identified a gap in the market for a carbon-neutral taxi service in Dublin and North Wicklow. They are offering a low-emission alternative to regular petrol or diesel cabs.

Both full-time, experienced, taxi drivers, Joe Donohoe worked for thirty years in the motor industry, with one of the biggest motor brands on the Irish market, while John Burke operated his own major retail logistics company.

"With considerable knowledge of the service industry, we have introduced Ireland's first truly green taxi company, offering great service, value, and an environmentally-friendly transport option", said Joe Donohoe.

Explaining the motivation behind go green cabs, John Burke explained, "We are aware that a lot of corporations have adopted green protocol initiatives and our service is a perfect fit with that ethical approach. By taking a go green cabs, companies can make genuine reductions in the CO2 emissions associated with business travel. In addition, we offer very competitive prices."

Fully branded, the easily identified green fleet of cabs is also standardised, therefore customers know exactly what to expect, in terms of both the cab which will be a Toyota Prius, but also the excellent service and value," said Burke.

He added, "We realise that a green taxi alternative appeals to many companies eager to reduce their carbon footprint. Our claims are underpinned by research and delivered by report. Our commercial clients can have a summary report on CO2 emissions of vehicles hired across a chosen time period, to include a carbon footprint report or green statement.

Each of go green cabs' Toyota Prius taxi cars takes up to four people on a single journey, and offers
convenient and free WIFI connection for a laptop or smart phone.

For individual and corporate clients, the taxi service offers local transport, as well as airport and station transfers. You will see them around South Dublin and North Wicklow, they are based in Dun Laoghaire and cover the whole of the Dublin area.
